La Casa Cuadrada is a meeting point for artists of different fields and disciplines who are not only looking for a place to create but also for a community with.
An artist residency here can be a mix of creative introspection and interaction with other residents and the local community of El Coronil.
You will have the opportunity to deepen and merge your artistic practice at La Casa Cuadrada with the essence of an authentic rural environment in the south of Spain.
Do you want to combine the exploration of Andalusian culture with a place to paint, write, perfom, film, dance or any other creative practice? We provide extra assistance and expertise with film and photography related work due to our personal background and education.

What do we want from you?
If you are interested in staying at la Casa Cuadrada for a one/two/three month residency, (other timeframes on request) write us a small motivational letter in which you introduce yourself as an artist, state your expectations and possible project plan which you plan to develop, the desired timeframe and desired dates of your stay.
This project plan can be regards to any stage of your working process (pre/post production, elaborating on a research or finishing an existing project, it is all valid as long as you reflect on the relevance of your practice in this environment here at the square house. Of course, we understand that your plans are just a possible sketch in anticipation to the actual residency and we completely understand they can and probably will change during your stay. We also ask you to reflect on how you would involve the local community (directly or indirectly) in your project, and why the rural area of Andalusia is a good location for you to develop it.
econdly, we ask you to send us your Biography, CV and one work in particular that represents you as an artist and resonates most with your recent artistic practice and/or your future creative endeavors. Please motivate your choice.
Lastly, we ask you to imagen a possible workshop and/or performance, interactive exhibition you would be willing to develop during your stay, keeping in mind establishing contact and a connection with the people of the town and your desired demographic. Please motivate your ideas.
Residency Rates:
One month A.I.R: 650,00€
Two months A.I.R: 1.200,00€
Three months A.I.R: 1.650,00€
Includes:
• Weekly cleaning of the entire property (public and private spaces midst not wanted)
• Clean bedding, towels weekly.
• 24/7H. assistance in case of any technical or practical inconvenience with any services or amenities in and around the house.
• Conceptual and practical assistance in terms of production in regards to your creative project.
(I will personally invest my time, attention and my social/profesional network to help you attain needed materials, locations, props and participants necessary for your project.
• (If greater involvement is required at the level of assistance in the production of a project, it can be consulted, studied and contracted, evaluating each case individually.)
