**DANIEL DONATO** *(Fortaleza, 1987)* is a Brazilian filmmaker. As a director, his latest film, *”Hello My First Love, Over and Out”*, premiered in the Opening Scenes section of the 39th edition of Visions du Réel (Switzerland). As a cinematographer, his work has been featured in major film festivals, including the Locarno Film Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, DOK Leipzig, Netherlands Film Festival, Helsinki International Film Festival, and Uppsala International Short Film Festival.
*”My work always begins with a fascination for a person, someone I want to get to know. I feel the need to approach my subject, to understand who they are. I believe our identities are not fixed; they are constantly changing. They are complex and full of contradictions. I aim to portray a real person and bring their inner contradictions to the surface. Therefore, my work revolves around the question: How can I reveal the contradictions within a person and represent a fluid and fragmented identity in cinema and audiovisual media?”*
