La Casa Cuadrada is an artist residency founded with the goal to develop creative and educational projects in the rural area of Sevilla with a special expertise in audiovisual projects and social participation. Our mission is to strengthen the arts and culture in the region of El Coronil, broaden the offer of cultural and artistic events to the public and contribute to the educational systems in the region. With innovative and collaborative programs, we try to impulse creativity and the arts, creating an lasting impact in the community and beyond.
We are a public and multi purpose space for creative research, production and presentation: a space where national and international artists work on projects that intent to dynamically reinterpret the rural area, culture, convictions and perceptions that belong to it. In this way stimulating the growth, identity and diverseness of the community with exhibitions, presentations and workshops.
Aside from offering an inspiring working space, we provide the means and support to our artists in residence, giving them access to material, tools and a network of practical and profesional contacts. The Square House becomes a meeting point, cultivating an atmosphere where ideas can develop and transform into solid projects that benefit the society as a whole.
