La Casa Cuadrada aims to generate several positive external effects within and outside the El Coronil community.
As a workspace for artists, curators, and educators who are encouraged to collaborate with the local residents and organizations, as well as with coinciding visitors and other artists staying at The Square House.
The house aims to strengthen the arts and culture in the El Coronil and Sevilla region to enhance the cultural offerings for citizens, tourists, and the educational systems present in the region.
The Square House was intentionally founded in a particularly rural environment because we believe it serves a greater purpose there as a potential birthplace for regeneration and social change.
Therefore, the importance of directly linking the house and its activities to the community in a possibly very practical way is of immeasurable value, as it could create a presence of a safe space in the city, communicate and offer creative solutions to social issues, and as a result, potentially reduce antisocial behaviors that arise from them.
Our challenge: open an intercultural dialogue, with the opportunity to generate a more open and international perspective on currently dominant social beliefs.
